DTT ACCUMULATOR PISTON

The DTT Anodized Aluminum Accumulator piston is designed to eliminate any leakage that may be present in the accumulator port.

While by no means does DTT consider this component mandatory in every transmission it is our choice to include this component in our rebuilt transmissions that we ship out and also in the transmissions we rebuild and install in house in our own facility at our regular quoted transmission price.

The DTT accumulator piston design purpose is twofold. Not only is it built to address leakage it is also designed to give an individual the ability to eliminate the shock absorber spring that is needed with the OEM plastic accumulator piston. If you try to remove the OEM spring from the OEM plastic piston it will result in cracking of the OEM piston.

By removing the OEM piston and spring and putting in the DTT accumulator piston you can achieve a firmer shift into second gear without having to re-modify the aftermarket valve body.
